Oleg TYAHAI

Криворізький загін воєнізованої охорони
17.02.1969 – 07.02.2023

Oleg Oleksiyovych was born on February 17, 1969, in the village of Novopetrivka, Mykolaiv region. From childhood, he was involved in sports and was passionate about athletics. In 1988, he graduated from Mykolaiv Construction College. His wife, Svitlana, remembers him as a true man, loyal and reliable.

He began his career in railway transport in August 2008 as a shooter in the shooting team of Kryvyi Rih-Glavny Station. From April 2018 to February 2023, he served as a 4th class shooter in the Kryvyi Rih militarized security team. His colleagues remember him as a loyal friend, an experienced and disciplined worker. He dedicated 15 years of his life to working on the railway.

On March 12, 2022, he voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend the country from Russian aggression. He served in the mechanized troops, bravely defending his country and serving as an example of courage and selflessness for his comrades, giving a worthy response to the occupiers.

He was killed on February 7, 2023, while performing a combat mission to ensure national security and defense measures, repelling the armed aggression of the Russian Federation in the settlement of Bakhmut, Donetsk region.

For his personal bravery demonstrated during combat operations, he was awarded the "Defender of the Fatherland" medal, the "Pride of Dovhyntsi District" badge, the "For Merits to the City" badge of the 3rd degree, and the "For Courage" Order of the 3rd degree (posthumously).

We express our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. Oleg Oleksiyovych is survived by his wife and daughter.

The team of the Kryvyi Rih militarized security unit of the "Ukrainian Railways" Joint Stock Company deeply mourns this irreparable loss. Eternal memory and honor to our colleague and hero.
