Oleksandr KHARCHENKO
Oleksandr was born in Kryvyi Rih. He graduated from a lyceum, where he obtained a qualification as a locomotive driver. Since 2007, he worked at the Kryvyi Rih locomotive depot, and from 2012, he served as a locomotive driver.
In July 2020, Oleksandr signed a contract and joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine, serving as a vehicle driver.
38-year-old soldier Oleksandr Kharchenko, a locomotive driver, died on December 9, 2023, from severe injuries sustained in a car accident in the Kharkiv region while performing his duties transporting military cargo. The tragedy occurred when a tank fell onto the cabin of the truck he was driving. Oleksandr fought desperately for his life for 58 days while in a coma.
His wife, Natalia, remembers him as a reliable support for the family, a very cheerful, sincere, and genuine person who could be trusted unconditionally. Oleksandr was a loving father and husband. In his free time, he enjoyed beekeeping, radio engineering, and repairing old equipment; he had "hands from the right month" and was always ready to help.
Oleksandr is survived by his wife Natalia and two daughters, Kateryna and Vira.
