Oleksandr MELNYCHENKO
Oleksandr was born in the village of Znamianka, Kirovohrad region. He began his professional career in 1998. Recently, he worked as a foreman for the maintenance and repair of tracks and artificial structures of the 6th category at the Dnipro railway distance.
On June 16, 2023, Oleksandr was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The track foreman Oleksandr, who dedicated 11 years to working on the railway, was killed on December 30, 2023, while performing a combat mission in the Kherson region. For a long time, the soldier was considered missing in action.
His mother, Raisa Dmytrivna, refers to her son as a "peacemaker" because he disliked conflicts and always reconciled others. He was very sensitive, caring, gentle, and tender towards his family, loved nature, and often went fishing with them.
Colleagues remember Oleksandr as a responsible and diligent worker, a good leader who was respected in the team. He maintained contact with the guys even from the front.
Oleksandr is survived by his mother Raisa Dmytrivna, a son, a daughter-in-law, and two grandsons (the second grandson was born after the soldier's death).
