Oleksandr PANASENKO
Oleksandr was born in the city of Synelnykove in the Dnipropetrovsk region and lived in Nikopol. He graduated with honors from the Dnipropetrovsk National University of Railway Transport, finishing school with a gold medal. He dedicated nearly 20 years to working on the railway, holding various positions, including train assembler, shunting dispatcher, and operator at the Synelnykove-1 and Nikopol stations (Kryvyi Rih Directorate).
In June 2021, Oleksandr enlisted in the Armed Forces of Ukraine under contract. He served as a platoon commander of a self-propelled artillery battery and was an artillery officer. His wife, Natalia, recalls that Sashko loved Ukraine with all his heart, was a loving husband, and was very supportive of his parents. He was a person who saw everything through to the end and could do everything with his own hands.
41-year-old Senior Lieutenant Oleksandr Panasenko was killed in action on June 8, 2023, during combat near the city of Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region.
The fallen defender was posthumously awarded the title of "Honorary Citizen of the City of Nikopol."
Oleksandr is survived by his wife Natalia and their 13-year-old daughter Olena.
