Oleksandr Shashkin
Oleksandr was born and lived in the town of Apostolove in the Dnipropetrovsk region. In February 2001, he began working as a track layer at the Apostolivska track distance, where he worked for over 20 years.
His supervisor and colleague Vasyl Fediw recalls that Oleksandr was a diligent and responsible worker who knew his job exceptionally well and worked conscientiously. He was always willing to help outside of working hours: “Sashko and I were like brothers.”
On February 24, 2022, Oleksandr took up arms to defend his homeland.
42-year-old Oleksandr Shashkin was killed on March 17, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Vodiane in the Donetsk region.
Oleksandr is survived by his wife.
