Oleksandr Tkachenko
Oleksandr was born and lived in the city of Volnovakha in Donetsk region. He graduated from the Artemivsk College of Transport Infrastructure. He worked at Ukrzaliznytsia as a duty officer at the Volnovakha station of the Donetsk railway.
He was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine on January 6, 2022, prior to the full-scale invasion. He served in the Joint Forces Operation "Donetsk" (specifically, as part of the 105th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade) as an officer in the planning group of the infantry headquarters.
37-year-old Senior Sergeant Oleksandr Tkachenko, a duty officer, was killed on January 20, 2024, while performing a combat mission in the city of Krasnohorivka in Donetsk region.
Colleagues and acquaintances remember Oleksandr as cheerful, responsible, fair, determined, a man of action and words. His civil partner Olena recalls that he was a very bright and positive person, a loyal friend and comrade, selfless, and always ready to lend a helping hand.
For his service, he was awarded the medal "For Courage in Battle."
