Oleksandr Vodolazskyi
Oleksandr was born in the village of Chaplyne in the Dnipropetrovsk region. He began working on the railway in October 2004 as a mechanic's assistant. Later, he worked as an electrical fitter for the contact network at the Lower Dnipro Supply Distance, following in the footsteps of his father, who worked on the railway for 30 years.
On March 30, 2022, Oleksandr took up arms to defend his homeland. He died near Soledar alongside his godfather, with whom he fought side by side.
38-year-old Oleksandr Vodolazskyi was killed on January 8, 2023, during combat near the city of Soledar in the Donetsk region.
For his courage and bravery, he was posthumously awarded the Order of "For Courage" III class.
His wife, Yuliia, recalls that Oleksandr loved technology, had many friends, and spent a lot of time with their children, teaching them fairness and honesty.
Oleksandr is survived by his wife Yuliia, their 14-year-old daughter Oleksandra, and 12-year-old son Dima.
The team at the Lower Dnipro Supply Distance of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" honors the memory of their colleague with deep sorrow and respect. His bravery, recognized with the Order of "For Courage," and the tragic loss for his wife and two children is a pain we share. Glory to our defender!
