Pavlo SIRYI
Pavlo was born in the village of Chapaivka in the Kharkiv region and lived in the city of Lozova. Since 2007, he worked as a 4th category lathe operator in the wheel and axle shop at the Paniutynskyi Wagon Repair Plant, dedicating many years of his life to the railway. He was a highly skilled specialist who willingly shared his experience with the younger generation.
From the very first days of the full-scale invasion, Pavlo Ivanovych did not hesitate to take up arms. He served in the Bakhmut direction as the commander of the 3rd rifle squad of the 113th separate territorial defense brigade. Colleagues remember his generous and kind soul, remarkable sense of humor, and skilled hands. He was an honorable person with a keen sense of justice and often repeated, "Ukraine was, is, and will be."
The 59-year-old sergeant Pavlo Siryi was killed on May 3, 2023, while performing a combat mission near the village of Hryhorivka in the Donetsk region. He was just a year shy of his 60th birthday.
For his bravery and heroism, Sergeant Siryi was awarded the badge "Recognition of the Head of the Regional Territorial Defense Forces 'East' of the 3rd degree," and posthumously received the award "For Courage and Valor" and the Order of "For Courage" of the 3rd degree.
Pavlo is survived by his wife, children, and granddaughter.
