Petro TATARIN
Petro Tatarin was born and lived in the village of Miliieve in the Chernivtsi region. In 2021, he began working on the railway as a repairman for rolling stock at the Chernivtsi locomotive depot, but his work was interrupted by mandatory military service.
In October 2022, Petro signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Later, he transferred to a unit of the National Guard, serving in the 15th Operational Brigade named after Hero of Ukraine Lieutenant Bohdan Zavada.
During the war, he repeatedly risked his life to save his comrades. Petro always approached his duties responsibly, followed orders precisely, and remained faithful to his military oath until his last breath.
Junior Sergeant Petro Tatarin, a repairman for rolling stock, was killed on February 22, 2024, in the city of Orikhiv in Zaporizhzhia. While on a combat mission, he was attacked by an enemy drone that struck him with an unknown chemical substance. He succumbed to his injuries. He was not yet 22 years old.
The team at the Chernivtsi locomotive depot of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" bows their heads in profound sorrow and deep respect for Petro Tatarin. His courage, loyalty to the oath, and ultimate sacrifice will remain a model for all of us. Glory to the Hero of Ukraine!
