Roman Bondarenko
Roman was born in the village of Rozdollia in the Kharkiv region. At the age of 20, he began working at the Lozova railway maintenance division, where he held the position of a trackman of the 4th category, dedicating 17 years to the railway. Colleagues remember him as a cheerful, responsible, and proactive person, always ready to help, a good friend and companion. Roman was passionate about football.
On the fourth day of the full-scale invasion, February 27, 2022, Roman volunteered to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a rifleman in a separate battalion of territorial defense and bravely defended his homeland.
Roman Hryhorovych was killed on May 3, 2023, while defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine during a combat mission near the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region.
The defender is survived by his wife and son.
The team at the Lozova railway maintenance division of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" respectfully honors the memory of Roman Hryhorovych. His dedication to the Motherland and willingness to help will forever remain an example. Glory to the Hero!
