Roman ZAYCHENKO
Roman was born in the city of Dniprodzerzhynsk, Dnipropetrovsk region. He graduated from Dniprodzerzhynsk State Technical University.
He began working on the railway in 2020 as an electromechanic in the II group of the Ryadivskyi traction substation branch of the Kryvyi Rih electrical supply distance. Later, he served as an electromechanic in the II group of the Piatykhatska traction substation of the Kryvyi Rih electrical supply distance of the regional branch "Pridniprovsk Railway." He worked on the railway for 4 years.
In 2022, despite the opportunity to remain reserved, he voluntarily took up the defense of his homeland.
His wife Iryna shares: "After graduation, Roman worked at the Dnipro Metallurgical Plant, then had a job abroad. However, he found his calling on the railway. He also taught the younger generation in his beloved field at the West Dnipro Center for Vocational and Technical Education. In his short life, he earned respect and authority among family and friends for his kind soul, cheerful disposition, and dedication to his word and work. He was a good son, father, husband, and a true patriot. In our dreams for the future, we saw a peaceful, happy life..."
On April 16, 2024, Roman was killed in Donetsk, heroically engaging in battle against superior enemy forces.
He is survived by his wife Iryna and her daughter Anna, who became dear to Roman; his parents, sister, and son from his first marriage.
The team of the Kryvyi Rih electrical supply distance is deeply saddened by the loss of their colleague, Roman. The memory of his kind soul, dedication to his work, and patriotism will live on forever. Eternal memory and honor to our Hero!
