Ruslan TARGONSKY
Ruslan was born in the city of Korosten in the Zhytomyr region. He received vocational education and was passionate about sports, particularly boxing. He worked as a third-class mechanic for the repair of rolling stock at the Korosten locomotive depot of the regional branch of the "South-Western Railway."
On November 26, 2019, Ruslan was conscripted for mandatory military service. From July 2020, he served under contract as a machine gunner-regulator in the security and defense company.
Soldier Ruslan Targonsky tragically lost his life in the city of Novograd-Volynsky (Zvyagel) in the Zhytomyr region on April 22, 2022, due to a grenade explosion. He would have turned 22 years old on April 23...
To his loved ones, Ruslan was remembered as brave and selfless.
Posthumously, he was awarded the "For Courage and Valor" distinction by the Korosten City Territorial Community.
Ruslan is survived by his mother and sister.
The team at the Korosten locomotive depot of the regional branch of "Ukrzaliznytsia" mourns the loss of their employee. This brave mechanic and athlete, who chose to serve under contract and heroically died just one day before his 22nd birthday, made an undeniable sacrifice in service in Zhytomyr region. His memory will live on forever.
