Serhiy SARZHEVSKYI

Serhiy was born and lived in the village of Yampil. He worked as a watchman in the railway service of the Donetsk Railway (PCh-3 Lyman). In peaceful times, he enjoyed fishing, walking in the forest, and mushroom picking.

58-year-old Serhiy Sarzhevskyi was killed on May 6, 2022, during the shelling of his native village of Yampil in the Donetsk region.

To his colleagues, Serhiy was remembered as polite, honest, responsible, and hardworking; he was a good colleague and a loyal friend. His wife and son recall: “Our dad will always be a man with a capital letter to us – the Head of the Family! He was very resourceful, a jack of all trades... He didn’t want to leave home because he did everything in it with his own hands and thought that by staying there, he could protect it from the enemy.”

Serhiy is survived by his wife and son.

The team of the railway service (PCh-3 Lyman) of the regional branch of "Donetsk Railway" JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" honors the memory of their colleague. This responsible watchman, a jack of all trades and head of the family, was killed by shelling in his native village, remaining faithful to his home. His hard work and boundless devotion to his family will remain an example. We extend our condolences to his wife and son. Eternal memory.
