Vadym KORNIYCHUK
Vadym Korniychuk was born in the village of Pustomyty in the Hoshchanskyi district of the Rivne region. In 2020, after graduating from the Zdolbuniv Higher Vocational School of Railway Transport, he began working as a 3rd category locksmith for rolling stock repair in the electric train repair shop of the "Zdolbuniv Motor Car Depot" branch of "Lviv Railway" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia."
He worked at the railway for 10 months, after which he was released on November 10, 2020, to serve in the military during mobilization. From December 23, 2022, he served under contract in the National Guard of Ukraine.
On July 18, 2024, Junior Sergeant Vadym was killed while performing a combat mission to deter military aggression from the Russian Federation as a result of a tank shelling in the vicinity of the settlement of Robotyne in the Polohy district of the Zaporizhzhia region.
He was kind, attentive to his parents, always giving them small gifts, addressed them formally, loved animals, and in his childhood made wooden toy guns, claiming he would be a Hero. He was about to get married.
Vadym had the motto "Everything will be fine." He feared nothing, was brave, non-confrontational, and said that Ukrainian borscht was "divine food."
Vadym Korniychuk is survived by his parents, brother, and fiancée.
The team at the Zdolbuniv Motor Car Depot deeply mourns the irreparable loss of our brave colleague. We share the grief of Vadym's family and loved ones. His motto "Everything will be fine" will become our rallying cry in the fight for a free Ukraine. The memory of the Hero will live on forever!
