Vadym Vovk
Vadym was born and lived in the village of Kasynivka in the Dnipropetrovsk region. He studied at the Dnipropetrovsk Railway Transport Technical School. He worked on the railway as a driver of railway construction machines of the 6th category at the Pyatykhatska Track Machine Station.
Vadym was a career military man: from 2016 to 2017, he served as a senior sapper in the 101st Separate Brigade of the General Staff Protection. After being mobilized in February 2022, he returned to the same unit, where he served as a squad commander.
His father remembers Vadym as a sunny, positive, mature, and determined son who, to avoid worrying his family, did not share that he was serving in the hottest spots. His colleagues valued him for his responsibility, fairness, great sense of humor, composure, and prudence. In his free time, Vadym enjoyed arm wrestling and creating computer programs, dreaming of building his own house and traveling.
26-year-old Junior Sergeant Vadym Vovk, a squad commander, was killed in action on January 9, 2023, during combat near the village of Druzhba in the Donetsk region.
For his bravery, Vadym Vovk was posthumously awarded the Order of "For Courage" of the III degree.
Vadym is survived by his parents and sister.
The team at the Pyatykhatska Track Machine Station of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" bows their heads in deep respect and unspeakable sorrow before Vadym Vovk. We honor the memory of the young Warrior!
