Valeriy KALMYKOV
Valeriy Kalmykov was born in the city of Artemivsk (now Bakhmut) in the Donetsk region. In 1986, he graduated from a technical school, having trained as a mechanical technician. He worked on the railway in the Lyman Directorate of the branch "Center for Construction and Installation Works and Operation of Buildings and Structures" as a 5th-grade toolmaker in the plastic products workshop at Bakhmut station.
The 54-year-old Valeriy Kalmykov died on July 12, 2022, as a result of enemy artillery shelling in the city of Bakhmut in Donetsk region. A shell exploded in the yard of the house where the railway worker lived.
Colleagues remember him as a kind, polite, compassionate, and skilled specialist who was always eager to help others. In his free time, Valeriy loved fishing.
Valeriy is survived by his mother, wife, two daughters, two grandsons, and a brother.
The team of the Lyman Directorate of the branch "Center for Construction and Installation Works and Operation of Buildings and Structures" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" mourns the tragic loss. The toolmaker from Bakhmut, a compassionate colleague and master of his craft, died as a civilian victim right in the yard of his home. His professional dedication and humanity are an example we will cherish. May the memory of our colleague be eternal.
