Valeriy SHPOT
Valeriy Viktorovych Shpot was born in the city of Romny, Sumy region. After graduating from high school, he consciously chose a skilled trade, as he had been able to work with his hands since his youth and valued precision and accuracy in everything.
He began his railway career in 2012 as a 4th-grade carpenter in the furniture and woodworking section at the Romny station, part of the production structural unit "Kharkiv Directorate" of the "Center for Construction and Installation Works and Operation of Buildings and Structures" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia." His total work experience on the railway amounted to 12 years, 9 months, and 29 days. During this time, Valeriy Viktorovych established himself as a disciplined, responsible, and experienced specialist. He possessed deep knowledge of his craft, adhered to safety regulations, and completed production tasks with quality and within the set deadlines. Colleagues noted his composure, balance, humanity, and willingness to help others.
With the onset of the full-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine in December 2022, Valeriy was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served diligently, carrying out combat missions in the Luhansk direction, particularly in detecting and destroying enemy forces.
On May 4, 2024, Valeriy was killed while performing a combat mission in the Luhansk direction, demonstrating courage and loyalty to his oath while defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
Throughout his years of work and service, Valeriy Shpot earned the sincere respect of colleagues, leadership, and comrades. He was characterized by a calm demeanor, thoughtful decision-making, and principledness. His life path is an example of dignity, hard work, and dedication to his profession and country.
He is survived by his wife, son, and two daughters.
