Vasyl KOLUBATKO

Vasyl was born in the village of Smyrnivka in the Kharkiv region and grew up and studied in Lozova. After serving in the border troops (1989-1991), he worked in the fire department, in a blacksmith shop, and later as a diesel mechanic on a fire train. He worked as a pump operator of the 3rd category in the Kharkiv military security unit at the Lozova station.

Colleagues remember Vasyl as a role model for everyone, caring and dedicated to his work, willingly taking on the most challenging tasks. He had an exceptionally strong-willed character.

From the first days of the war, Vasyl volunteered for the Territorial Defense of Lozova, and on March 18, 2022, he was called up to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a radio telephone operator in the mortar battery command unit.

52-year-old Vasyl Kolubatko was killed on June 2, 2023, while performing combat missions in the village of Hryhorivka in Donetsk region.

Vasyl is survived by his wife and daughter.
