Vasyl Tsytsa
Vasyl was born in his native highland village of Syanky in the Lviv region. After graduating from the Lviv Interregional Vocational College, he worked as a track layer in the Uzhhorod railway division.
According to his colleagues, Vasyl was calm and balanced, yet responsible, persistent, and decisive in his work.
In 2021, during a turbulent time for the country, he made a fateful decision to leave his job on the railway and enlist in the army under a contract. With the onset of the full-scale invasion, the railway worker continued to bravely fight against the enemy in the Zaporizhzhia direction.
28-year-old soldier Vasyl Tsytsa, a track layer, was killed on February 19, 2024, during a fierce battle with the occupiers in the settlement of Novodanylivka in the Polohy district of Zaporizhzhia. The enemy launched a massive artillery strike on their firing position, but Vasyl and his comrades held their ground. Unfortunately, the warrior completed this combat mission at the cost of his own life.
The team of the Uzhhorod railway division of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" bows their heads in sorrow and pride before Vasyl Tsytsa. Eternal glory and honor to the hero!
