Vitaliy ZIRNYK
Vitaliy was born in the village of Plyakivka, Kamyanske district, Cherkasy region, and lived in the city of Kamianka. In December 2019, he joined the railway family, working as a train dispatcher of the 6th category at the Taras Shevchenko station.
Colleagues remember him as a responsible, disciplined, and technically skilled specialist who was demanding of himself and always positive and cheerful. Vitaliy planned to continue working on the railway and raise his children after the victory.
He was mobilized on the first day of the full-scale war, February 24, 2022, to the 58th Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a senior mechanic and driver of the evacuation unit of the repair company.
Vitaliy Mykhailovych Zirnyk, train dispatcher, was killed on February 6, 2024, while performing a combat mission in the area of the village of Urozhayne in the Donetsk region.
The fallen warrior is survived by two children – a son and a daughter.
The team at the Taras Shevchenko station of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" bows its heads in sorrow and pride before Vitaliy Zirnyk. His courage, dedication, and ultimate sacrifice will forever be our symbol of honor. Eternal glory to the hero!
