Volodymyr Opalenyk
Volodymyr was born in the village of Kam'yanytsia in the Zakarpattia region. He dedicated over 22 years to working at Ukrzaliznytsia, serving as a crusher operator of the 4th category at the "Kam'yanytskyi Quarry" of the "Center for Industrial Management" branch.
On March 28, 2022, Volodymyr was called up to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as the number of the crew in a self-propelled artillery platoon.
42-year-old Senior Sergeant Volodymyr Opalenyk heroically lost his life on September 7, 2022, due to enemy artillery shelling near the village of Myrna Dolyna in the Kharkiv region.
In civilian life, Volodymyr was kind, caring, cheerful, and hardworking. In his free time, he enjoyed tending to his household, planting trees, and going fishing. Together with his wife, he planned to renovate the family home, raise his sons, and wait for grandchildren. His wife says, "Time passes, but the pain of losing a beloved husband and loving father does not fade."
Volodymyr was buried in the village of Nevytske in Zakarpattia.
The team at the Kam'yanytskyi Quarry of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" pays great tribute to their colleague. A crusher operator with over 22 years of experience, who was a devoted family man with dreams of grandchildren and a home, fell as an artilleryman in Kharkiv, defending our land. His courage, hard work, and immense gratitude from the community will forever remain in the memory of our team. Glory to the Warrior!
