Volodymyr POLKA
Volodymyr Polka was born in the village of Rudnia in the Kyiv region. In peacetime, Volodymyr worked for over 20 years at the Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi locomotive depot. Recently, he was a 5th-grade locksmith repairing rolling stock.
Volodymyr was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine in January 2024.
Soldier Volodymyr Polka was killed on May 13, 2024. He had just turned 40 years old.
Colleagues recall that Volodymyr was a patriot of his country, approached his work responsibly, always stood for the truth, was honest, fair, and never feared to express his opinion.
“Volodya... was a PERSON who SMILED AT LIFE. HE WILL REMAIN SMILING IN OUR MEMORY,” wrote Volodymyr's fellow countrywoman Alla Kadyrova on her Facebook page.
Volodymyr is survived by his wife and daughter.
