Volodymyr ZAKHAROV
Volodymyr Zakharov died on April 23, 2022, under the rubble of a production building after the enemy launched a missile strike on the Pavlohrad railway hub. The day before, on April 22, he had turned 48 years old.
Volodymyr was born in the city of Pavlohrad, Dnipropetrovsk region. He graduated from a vocational school in Dnipro, specializing as a locomotive assistant. He joined the railway in 1994, initially working as a driver of an electric locomotive at the Synelnykove locomotive depot. From 1997, his professional journey continued at the Pavlohrad electrical supply distance, where he held positions as a draisine driver, assistant driver of a railcar, and railcar driver. His wife also worked alongside him in this distance. In the team, Volodymyr enjoyed undeniable authority. He was a reliable friend whom one could always count on.
In 2014-2015, Volodymyr was a participant in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO).
Volodymyr is survived by his wife, Tetiana, and daughter, Tamila.
The team at the Pavlohrad electrical supply distance of the regional branch "Pridniprovsk Railway" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" mourns the loss of their colleague. This ATO veteran, a highly qualified driver known for his reliability and dedication, heroically died at his workplace from an enemy strike that occurred just after his birthday. His self-sacrifice and commitment to the team will remain unforgettable.
