Yevheniy SKOK
Yevheniy was born in the town of Arbuzynka, Arbuzynskyi District, Mykolaiv Oblast. After completing 9th grade, he enrolled in the Higher Vocational Mining and Construction School, where he obtained qualifications as a "Railcar Repair Mechanic" and "Assistant Locomotive Driver for Electric and Diesel Locomotives." He began his railway career in 2017 as a mechanic for inspecting and repairing locomotives at the technical service points in the Pomichna locomotive depot of the regional branch "Odesa Railway" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia."
Colleagues remember him as a responsible worker. Shift supervisor Oleksandr Berezhnov recalls: "Yevheniy managed to complete his tasks and, when needed, came to help his colleagues. He earned respect among his peers and older, more experienced coworkers."
Yevheniy was a patriot of his country and was drafted into military service on June 21, 2022, as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in a military unit as a commander of a drone unit for fire support. He held the military rank of sergeant major and was awarded the honorary badge of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the "Golden Cross."
Yevheniy was killed on June 2, 2024, while defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine during a combat mission near the village of Kostiantynivka in Pokrovskyi District, Donetsk Oblast.
Yevheniy is survived by his mother, brother, and sister.
The team at the Pomichna locomotive depot deeply mourns this irreparable loss and expresses sincere condolences to Yevheniy's mother, brother, sister, family, and loved ones.
