Yuriy ALEKSANDROV
Yuriy was originally from the town of Popasna in the Luhansk region and lived in Sievierodonetsk. He received a secondary education and worked as a track layer of the 4th category in the track service (PCh-6 Popasna) of the Donetsk Railway. Yurii dedicated 24 years to his work on the railway. In his free time, he was passionate about cars, enjoyed repairing them, and loved driving.
Yuriy had repeatedly defended our land from the enemy. In 2015 and 2018, he served under contract in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After the full-scale Russian invasion, he rejoined the ranks of Ukraine's defenders on February 26, 2022. He served as a squad commander in the 2nd airborne assault platoon of the 8th airborne assault company of the 3rd airborne assault battalion.
Yuriy Aleksandrov was killed on April 22, 2022, near Mariupol. He was 48 years old.
His wife, Margarita, recalls: “Yurii was the best husband and father. He could do anything he set his mind to; he had 'golden hands.' Yuriy was a very caring person, always ready to help others and never refused anyone.” Colleagues say: “We remember Yurii Dmytrovych as a decent, honest, kind, and proactive person with a capital letter. He enjoyed well-deserved authority and respect in the team and shared his experience with younger workers.”
He was awarded the Order of Courage, 3rd class.
Yuriy is survived by his wife and daughter.
The team of the Popasna track distance of the Donetsk Railway honors the memory of the Warrior. This esteemed track layer, a three-time mobilized patriot with 'golden hands,' was an authoritative mentor and exemplary family man. His last battle took place near Mariupol. Our deepest condolences to his wife and daughter. Glory to the Hero!
