Yuriy BOYKO
Yuriy was born in the city of Bohuslav in the Kyiv region. After graduating from Bohuslav Vocational Technical School No. 7 in 1989, Yuriy served in the military.
In January 1992, after being demobilized, he joined the friendly railway family at the Myronivka station, becoming a train dispatcher of the 5th category at Myronivka station in the Koziatyn region of the production unit of the station operation service of the regional branch "South-Western Railway" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia." He has 32 years of experience working on the railway.
Colleagues remember him as a dedicated, disciplined, and responsible worker with a great sense of humor.
At the beginning of the full-scale invasion on March 12, 2024, Yuriy joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine, refusing a deferment from his job. He served as the chief sergeant of a rifle platoon. He bravely defended his homeland and provided a worthy resistance to the occupiers, exemplifying courage and dedication, instilling confidence and bravery in his comrades. He was awarded the medal "For Indomitable Heroes of the Russo-Ukrainian War."
Yuriy was killed on April 4, 2024, while defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine during a combat mission in the Kharkiv direction.
Yuriy is survived by his mother, brother, wife, two sons, daughter, and three grandchildren.
