Yuriy LEDAKOV
Yuriy was born in the city of Popasna, Luhansk region. In 2014, he joined the railway family, becoming a foreman (released) for the current maintenance and repair of tracks and artificial structures of the 5th category. He worked on the railway for 11 years.
Colleagues remember him as a responsible, kind, and proactive worker, always ready to lend a helping hand. His humanity, calmness, and sincerity left a deep mark in the hearts of those who worked alongside him.
From February 1, 2024, Yuriy was mobilized and served in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a senior shooter in the 11th Airborne Assault Company of the 3rd Airborne Assault Battalion. He bravely defended his homeland and gave a worthy resistance to the occupiers.
Yuriy was killed on March 20, 2024, while carrying out a combat mission to deter Russian aggression near the settlement of Tonenke, Pokrovsk district, Donetsk region. For over a year, Yuriy was considered missing in action, and hope for his return lingered in the hearts of many, but, unfortunately, the Warrior returned home on a shield.
Comrades remember Yuriy as a sincere, brave, and reliable combat companion.
Yuriy will forever remain in our memory as sincere, kind, cheerful, and full of life, always ready to help.
He is survived by his mother, father, and daughter.
The team of the Popasna track maintenance unit deeply mourns the irreparable loss — the death of our colleague, a dedicated worker, and a true patriot of Ukraine. His humanity and courage, devoted to the Motherland, will serve as an inexhaustible source of strength and pride for us. Heroes never die!
