Yuriy Shchepin

Yuriy was born in the town of Zdolbuniv in the Rivne region and lived in the village of Zdovbytsia. He worked as a trackman for the Rivne Railway Division.

On March 6, 2022, the railway worker was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As part of his unit, he fought on the front lines in the Donetsk region. Colleagues and friends remembered Yuriy as a straightforward communicator, compassionate, kind, and a decent man who never refused to help anyone.

31-year-old soldier Yuriy Shchepin died on June 9, 2022, in the Donetsk region as a result of severe injuries.

For his personal bravery and loyalty to the military oath, Yuriy Shchepin was posthumously awarded the Order of "For Courage" III degree. The fallen hero was buried with honors in the town of Zdolbuniv.

Yuriy is survived by his mother.

The team of the Rivne Railway Division of the regional branch "Lviv Railway" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" honors the memory of their colleague. This decent trackman and caring friend stood up to defend the country. His selflessness on the front lines, recognized with the Order of "For Courage," serves as an example of high civic duty.
