Sergiy Lysenko
Serhiy was born on April 5, 1986, in the city of Konotop, Sumy region. He graduated from Konotop Specialized School No. 3. Later, he studied at Sumy State Pedagogical University named after A. S. Makarenko.
Since 2008, he worked at the Konotop locomotive depot of the South-Western Railway as a repairman for rolling stock, later becoming a master at the locomotive depot. In 2012, he graduated from the Ukrainian State Academy of Railway Transport in Kharkiv with a degree in "Rolling Stock and Special Railway Equipment."
35-year-old soldier Serhiy Lysenko was killed on March 4, 2022, in Kyiv from a gunshot wound.
In 2020, Serhiy joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine and served under contract. He was a lathe operator in the repair and mechanical section of the armament repair platoon of the 58th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Hetman Ivan Vyhovsky, Operational Command "North" of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to his loved ones, Serhiy was a loving husband and father who devoted much time to raising his children, striving to raise them to be resilient and hardworking, teaching them not to shy away from work.
Colleagues say that Serhiy was a bright person with a big heart. Always kind and always ready to help his friends, he was willing to lend a hand at any time.
For his personal courage and selflessness displayed in defending the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as his loyalty to the military oath, Serhiy Lysenko was posthumously awarded the Order of "For Courage" III class.
He is survived by his wife, two sons, and parents.
The team at the Konotop locomotive depot of the regional branch "South-Western Railway" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" deeply mourns this irreparable loss and expresses sincere condolences to the Hero's family.
